Westwood is a state-funded housing development located in the west end of the city in New Bedford, next to the Boys & Girls Club. Built in 2018, Westwood is fully accessible for those with mobility, hearing, and/or visual impairments. It is a twelve-unit development containing one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. All units are equipped with central air as well as washer and dryer hookups. Vareika Construction’s scope of work began with the demolition of four one-story buildings (red buildings in the images) and the new construction of six one-story wood framed duplex buildings and associated site work, sidewalks, and landscaping.
